[Youtubery] It’s Supposed To Be A Massager

24 08 2011

Debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival, Hysteria caught my attention because it starred Maggie Gyllenhaal. Then the topic of female sexual hysteria caught my attention and that’s all she wrote. Anyway, here’s the summary from the website:

A romantic comedy based on the surprising truth of how Mortimer Granville came up with the world’s first electro-mechanical vibrator in the name of medical science. Academy Award® nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy headline in this untold tale of a young Victorian doctor’s quest to figure out the key to women’s happiness. Also starring Jonathan Pryce, Rupert Everett and Felicity Jones.

Yes, it’s a romantic comedy about the first vibrator. So it will probably be never shown in the Philippines. So, it’s thank you bitorrent, when this gets released.

Screensaver Madness: Have The SNSD Girls Take Over Your PC

10 08 2011

It maybe a year old now but it never gets old.

Last year, DAUM, a popular Korean search engine had the girls of SNSD – more popularly known as Girl’s Generation to millions of red-blooded men worldwide – make a screensaver for them. As seen above it’s a combination of cuteness and hotness that will overload anyone’s senses. Want more? Check the Youtube link for the download link.

[Youtubery] Ikoku Meiro no Croisee and Dantalian no Shoka

28 07 2011

Two nice anime openings from this season – well-animated and both are as different as night and day.

The story takes place in the second half of the 19th century, as Japanese culture gains popularity in the West. A young Japanese girl, Yune, accompanies a French traveller, Oscar, on his journey back to France, and offers to help at the family’s ironwork shop in Paris. Oscar’s nephew and shop-owner Claude reluctantly accepts to take care of Yune, and we learn how those two, who have so little in common, get to understand each other and live together in the Paris of the 1800s.

The story centers around a young man named Huey who inherited a musty old estate, as well the entire book collection contained therein, from his grandfather. Huey meets Dalian, a girl in a black dress who is quietly reading in the basement piled high with books. Dalian controls the gateway to the Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian, the forbidden books of demonic wisdom.

[Youtubery] La Seine From A Monster In Paris

25 07 2011

Well, finally back from sickness and overwork. Sigh.

Anyway, to celebrate my return to regular posting, here’s a catchy little tune from the upcoming French animated movie, A Monster In Paris. Looking a bit like Disney’s recent Tangled, it’s a story of a cabaret singer, her mad scientist love interest, and, of course, a six-foot tall insect monstrosity who plays a mean guitar. 30 05 2011

And now for something completely different…

After all the game-related posts last week, I’m throwing in a small post about another one of my interests: martial arts movies! And not just any martial arts movie – it’s one of the old classics that most people miss when talking about the oeuvre. Anyway, let’s talk about: Against The Drunken Cat’s Paws a.k.a. No One Can Touch Her and a sundry other titles.

3 05 2011

Lightsaber vids are dime-a-dozen nowadays, but Ryan Wieber and Michael Dorkman are the premier lightsaber duelists on the Internet as shown by the sequence above. They’ve made several Youtube videos of their very well-choreographed fights on the Internet and they are a definite treat to watch.
